This API is currently in a proposed state and not available for consumption in sandbox or production.
Description
This API product suite allows end users to apply for:
- proprietary company registration (ABRS)
- public company registration (ABRS)
- company name reservation (ABRS)
- combined proprietary registration: proprietary company + ABN + optional business name + optional tax roles (Tax role application is managed by the ATO)
- ABN registration (ABRS)
- business name registration (ASIC).
Note: Not all applications are managed by ABRS. The above shows which application assessment will occur by agency. This is important information for the external end user.
End users should be advised that the details provided for all of the following roles must match ATO records:
- Director
- Secretary
- Public officer.
If the details don't match, your application may be refused.
All directors must supply their director ID.
The outcome of the application will be provided in the response for your end user, and will include a:
- Certificate of Incorporation if the application is successful, or
- Refusal notification if the application is refused.
The end user will be able to track application statuses.
End users must be advised that application decisions will not be completed by ABRS for:
- business name applications - these are managed by ASIC
- tax role and TFN registrations - these are managed by the ATO.
Application details will be validated with other government agencies and third-party vendors (for example, email and addresses).
- Declaration content and instructions to be determined - this content will be available on either the API portal or ABRS.gov.au.
- Fee content and instructions to be determined - this content will be available on either the API portal or ABRS.gov.au.
End user
Any representative of the company or third party acting on behalf of the company interested in registering an entity and maintaining that registration with ABRS.
